Karl Helbig (artist)
Karl Helbig (born August 15, 1897 in Bayreuth , † May 1951 in Tyresö , Sweden ) was a German painter and sculptor .
Life
After studying at the School of Applied Arts in Nuremberg and attending the United State Schools for Free and Applied Arts in Berlin, he worked as a silversmith and freelance artist. Until his emigration in 1933 he was a member of the Berlin Secession . Via France and Denmark he found his way into exile in Sweden, where he was involved in the Free German Association of Artists.
