Karl Hilgenstock (born September 17, 1866 in Hörde , † 1937 in Hattingen ) was a German mining director and local politician.

Life

His father, General Manager Daniel H. Karl, was married and had three sons.

Karl Hilgenstock attended high school. From 1886 he was employed in the mining industry. He studied at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . During his college years, he served as a one-year volunteer . In 1888 he was reciprocated in the Corps Hansea Bonn . 1893 Dr. phil. after receiving his doctorate , he spent an academic year in England until 1894. He was active in various commercial companies. During the First World War he served as a captain in the field artillery. He was also director and board member of Harpener Bergbau AG in Dortmund. From 1911 to 1918 he was a city ​​councilor in Dortmund . Until the end of 1926 he was a member of the Committee of Experts of the Reich Coal Council .
