Karl Hoffmann (naturalist)
Karl Hoffmann (born December 7, 1823 in Stettin ; † May 11, 1859 in Puntarenas ) was a German doctor and naturalist .
Life
Hoffmann studied at the Berlin University . In 1853 he traveled to Costa Rica with Alexander von Frantzius to collect living things. In 1856, during the incursion under William Walker , he served as a doctor in the Costa Rican Army. In 1859 Hoffmann died of typhus in Puntarenas .
