Karl Hofmann

Karl Hofmann (born November 1, 1862 in Buttlar , † July 12, 1928 in Berlin ) was a German politician (center).

Live and act

After attending primary school in Buttlar and an agricultural technical center, Hofmann was trained at the Agricultural Academy in Bonn from 1899 to 1902 . After completing his training, he worked there as an assistant from 1902 to 1904.

From 1904 to 1917 Hofmann was head of the Dikopshof experimental farm . In April 1917 he became general manager of the Chamber of Agriculture for the Rhine Province in Bonn and at the same time head of the experimental estate of the Chamber of Agriculture.

Hofmann sat for the Catholic Center Party from May 1924 to May 1928 as a member of the Reichstag for constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen) . In May 1928 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament.

In 1904 Hofmann wrote the book Das Holländer Rind , the result of a research trip undertaken on behalf of the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture to study Dutch cattle breeding.
