Karl Koehler

Friedrich Karl Köhl or Carl Köhl (* December 22, 1846 in Würzburg ; † March 4, 1926 there ) was a soap manufacturer, printer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Karl Köhl attended the Volks- und Gewerbeschule in Würzburg and completed a soap boiler apprenticeship. Between 1869 and 1881 he was the owner of his father's soap factory in Würzburg, which he sold in 1883. He took over the publishing house and the newspaper Würzburger Journal, founded in 1834, and set up a printing press. He stopped the publication of the (democratic) newspaper, last called Würzburger Tageblatt , in 1915 and was then a pensioner in Würzburg.

From 1878 to 1896 he was a member of the community college and in 1911 a member of the magistrate in Würzburg. Between 1893 and 1899 he was a member of the district administrator of Lower Franconia. From 1899 to 1918 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies and 1918/1919 of the Provisional National Council for the Liberal Association . In addition, he had a mandate in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Lower Franconia 6 ( Würzburg ) for the German People's Party from 1881 to 1884 .
