Karl Kinzl (politician, 1916)

Karl Kinzl (born October 6, 1916 in Schärding , † August 4, 1977 in Wels ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer . From 1955 to 1966 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag and from 1966 to 1977 a member of the National Council .

Kinzl attended elementary and secondary school in Schärding and joined the armed forces in 1937. He was subsequently accepted into the Wehrmacht and served throughout the Second World War, most recently as a medical sergeant in the army. After the end of the war, Kinzl was still a local councilor of Schärding in 1945 , to which he was a member until his death. In 1946 he married Maria Zauner, the daughter of a farmer, and the couple had five sons and two daughters. Kinzl, who ran a small farm, became increasingly involved in various agricultural self-help organizations and in 1958 became a member of the supervisory board of the Raiffeisenkasse Schärding. In 1964 he took over the function of chairman there. A year later he was elected to the board of directors of the Raiffeisen central bank for Upper Austria, and he was also the deputy chairman of the Upper Austrian goods brokerage and the Schärding warehouse cooperative. From 1966 he was also a member of the board of the Raiffeisenverband Oberösterreich. In addition, from 1960 Kinzl was active as local farmer chairman and from 1963 worked as chairman of the Kleinhäuslerbund.

Kinzl represented the ÖVP between November 19, 1955 and March 18, 1966 in the Upper Austrian state parliament and was then a member of the National Council from March 30, 1966 to August 4, 1977. He was also a member of the Chamber of Agriculture of Upper Austria from 1961 to 1977 and its vice-president from 1961 to 1967.
