Karl Konrath

Karl Konrath (born December 7, 1941 in Olbendorf ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1991 to 2005 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Konrath was born as the son of Karl and Johanna Konrath, his father died in World War II. He attended the elementary school in Olbendorf and then worked from 1957 to 1965 as a bricklayer, auxiliary foreman and foreman. From 1961 to 1963 he completed the master craftsman school and in 1965 passed the technical master builder examination. He then worked from 1965 to 1983 as a technical employee in Rotenturm an der Pinka , where he served as works council chairman for ten years. From 1983 he worked as an employee of the Burgenland regional health insurance fund in Eisenstadt as a controller.

politics

Konrath was local chairman of the SPÖ-Olbendorf from 1981 and from 1984 to 1996 mayor of Olbendorf. In addition, from 1995 he worked as deputy SPÖ district chairman in the Güssing district and was a member of the state party executive from 1989. Konrath represented the SPÖ from July 18, 1991 to October 24, 2005 in the Burgenland state parliament.
