Karl Kröger (District Administrator)

Karl Kröger (born December 16, 1824 in Germerode , † February 6, 1897 in Rinteln ) was a German administrative lawyer and most recently district administrator of the Rinteln district .

Life

Kröger, the son of a high school inspector, grew up in Witzenhausen and studied law and political science at the University of Marburg . After the legal traineeship, which he passed in 1848 at the higher court in Kassel, he was assigned to the higher court in Rinteln. From 1850 he was employed by the justice office in Witzenhausen. At his own request, he switched to an administrative career and got a job with the Kassel district government. In 1854 he became district secretary in Gelnhausen , then government secretary in Kassel, in 1857 consultant and assessor at the government commission in Rinteln, where he also took over the deputy of the government commissioner. After the Prussian occupation of the Electorate of Hesse, he was appointed provisional district administrator on September 10, 1866. He remained in office even after the incorporation of Kurhessen into the Prussian state on October 3, 1866, and in March 1868 received the definitive position as district administrator.

In a part-time position Kröger was the bathing director of Bad Nenndorf and from 1872 State Commissioner for the expropriation of the Hanover-Altenbekener Railway Company . In 1890 he was appointed a secret councilor. He retired on March 1, 1895.
