Karl Kreuser (conflict researcher)

Karl Kreuser (born April 8, 1961 in Munich ) is a German conflict and competence researcher .

Life

Karl Kreuser studied construction and surveying in Munich. He worked as an engineer in tunnel construction, as a teaching group leader at the Bavarian Disaster Management School and the State Fire Brigade School Geretsried , as a personnel and organizational developer in the Steinbeis Group and as a managing partner of a management consultancy.

After completing a doctorate in philosophy, sociology and education at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover , he was awarded a doctorate in 2010. phil. with the topic "Strategic competence management under diversity aspects using the example of gender".

Since then he has worked in various international and interdisciplinary research projects on conflict and competence. In 2010 he headed the mediation competence project, which was followed by studies on conflict competence and collective competence. Karl Kreuser had lectureships, among others at the universities of applied sciences in Munich and Rosenheim and the European Distance Learning University , and is an author on specialist topics.

Building on the more recent system theory , Karl Kreuser developed a systemic theory of conflict and conflict intervention. In 2014 he began working on a “theory of collective competencies”, which captures the competencies of teams and companies. In this context, further insights into professional competencies for advice and services as well as professional empathy emerged.

Karl Kreuser has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Austrian Federal Association for Mediation (ÖBM) since 2018
