Karl Kunst (politician, 1934)

Karl Kunst (born December 13, 1934 in Twistringen ; † November 28, 2019 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Art attended elementary and secondary schools. After completing a commercial apprenticeship, he worked in various branches of the wood industry until he joined his parents' wood business in 1957. He later took over the business. In 1957 he was a co-founder of the Junge Union there and was its first chairman and district chairman for many years. From 1961 he was councilor and deputy mayor of the city of Twistringen. He was also a member of the County Council of Hoya County . He was a councilor from 1961 to 1973 and from 1968 to 1996 he was mayor of the city of Twistringen. On June 21, 1970 he succeeded in entering the Lower Saxony state parliament , to which he belonged for three terms until June 20, 1982. There he was mainly active in the committee for youth and sport.
