Karl Landsteiner Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The "Karl Landsteiner Prize" of the Austrian Society of Allergy and Immunology (ÖGAI) is since 1988 conferred annually price for immunological basic research (in exceptional cases of Clinical Immunology related to immunological basic research). It is named after Karl Landsteiner and is awarded for outstanding work in immunology. The award winner should be the first author or first co-author, the work should not have received or be nominated for another award, and the publication in an international peer-reviewed journal was not more than two years ago. The award winner must be a member of the ÖGAI. The prize is endowed with 3000 euros (2012).

The ÖGAI also awards the “ Karl Landsteiner Medal ” and for allergology the “ Clemens von Pirquet Medal ” and the “ Clemens von Pirquet Prize ”.
