Karl Maria Schuster (born September 13, 1871 in Purkersdorf , † June 15, 1953 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter .

Life

Karl Maria Schuster was born in Purkersdorf as the son of a railway official and painter. His younger brother Josef was also a painter.

He studied from 1887 to 1896 at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and subsequently undertook numerous study trips, including to Grado . In 1902 he became a member of the cooperative of visual artists in Vienna ( Künstlerhaus ). During the First World War he worked as a war painter .
