In his early days, Sukopp worked abstractly. In the course of his work he went over to the representational in the symbolic-archaic sense. His diverse possibilities of expression are shown in the use of almost all conceivable materials, such as stone, wood, concrete, steel or bronze. He created sgraffitos, mosaics and ceramic wall reliefs. He restored sculptures and monuments.

The artist created many works for the city of Schwechat, including the memorial at the forest cemetery, the fountain on the main square and the relief on the Körnerhalle. The Körnerhalle, built in 1960, was demolished at the beginning of 2016 and will be replaced by a residential complex. The reliefs were dismantled and are to be preserved in the courtyard of the residential complex to be built.

In 2004 Sukopp created a large graphic cycle based on Franz Slavik's story Nur ein Sommer… .
