Karl Mathis

Karl Mathis (born November 19, 1845 at Rittergut Denkwitz, Glogau district , † July 14, 1917 in Berlin-Halensee ) was a German lawyer and politician . He was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives (1903-1917).

Live and act

Mathis was born the son of an estate owner and went to high school in Görlitz before studying law and political science in Berlin and Heidelberg . During his studies, he became in 1865 a member of the fraternity Germania Berlin and the fraternity Frankonia Heidelberg . In 1868 he became an auscultator , in 1873 a court assessor in Berlin, Köpenick and Glogau . From 1874 he worked as a district and district judge in Beuthen an der Oder , moved to Glogau in 1881 and became regional court director in Ratibor in 1891 . In 1894 he moved to Naumburg an der Saale and in 1899 became President of the Regional Court in Frankfurt an der Oder , where he also served as President of the Disciplinary Chamber for Reich civil servants.

From 1903 to 1917 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the Frankfurt 4 constituency. From 1908 to 1917 he was chairman of the committee for the rules of procedure . In 1916 he retired.
