Karl Michel (born November 17, 1836 in Weißenburg am Sand , † January 4, 1922 in Munich ) was a German brewer .

Life

In 1869, Michel founded the Michel'sche Brau-Lehranstalt in Augsburg , which is considered to be one of the first brewing schools ; it was located between 1877 and 1881 in today's building at Gögginger Strasse 90. After that, Michel moved to Munich, where he continued the establishment's activities as a private institute.

During his time in Munich, Michel is said to have been director of the first Munich brewery school and the brewery academy.
