Karl Neubert (doctor)

Karl Neubert (* 1799 in Leipzig ; † December 20, 1845 ibid) was a German doctor and medical historian.

Life

Neubert studied medicine at the University of Leipzig . In 1818 he became active with Raimund von Pape in the Corps Saxonia Leipzig . In 1835 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. From 1836 he was a private lecturer in the history of medicine and general pathology and therapy at the Medical Faculty of the University of Leipzig . In 1844 he was appointed associate professor . As a censor of the daily press and literature, he was often criticized by foreign newspapers. He dealt with Humphry Davy , the discoverer of the narcotic effect of laughing gas, and translated the memoirs of his brother John Davy . Neubert died at the age of 46.
