Karl Neuhaus

Karl Neuhaus (born October 23, 1880 in Vohwinkel , Mettmann district ; † February 12, 1947 in Penzberg ) was a German politician (CSP, DNVP).

Live and act

In his youth Neuhaus attended elementary schools in Vohwinkel and Barmen from 1886 to 1894 . He then completed a commercial apprenticeship until 1897. This was followed by a three-year activity as a clerk, before Neuhaus was a member of Field Artillery Regiment No. 43 for a year from 1900 to 1901. In the years 1901 to 1913 Neuhaus worked again as a clerk in order to finally set up his own business as a businessman and manufacturer in Löwensen near Bad Pyrmont : He opened a mechanical cotton weaving mill and a sack factory, sack repair and cleaning.

Since 1903 Neuhaus was politically active in the Christian Social Party , of which he was a member of the Lennep-Mettmann-Remscheid district association. In 1908 Neuhaus became chairman of the Berg und Mark party district. In 1910 he finally became honorary chief executive of the entire party.

Immediately after the establishment of the German National People's Party (DNVP) in autumn 1918 Neuhaus joined it. In December 1918 he became chairman of the party in the Düsseldorf-East constituency and a member of the party's executive board.

From 1919 to 1921 Neuhaus was a member of the constituent Prussian state assembly, and from June 1920 to May 1928 he was a member of the Reichstag for constituency 22 (Düsseldorf-Ost) . In addition, he was chairman of the Rhenish-Westphalian association of the DNVP.
