Karl Offmann

Karl Auguste Offmann (born November 25, 1940 ) is a Mauritian politician and was President of Mauritius.

After two presidents of Mauritius resigned because of their refusal to sign a controversial anti- terrorism law, Offmann was elected president on February 25, 2002. He held this post until Paul Bérenger was elected Prime Minister and then on October 1, 2003 named Anerood Jugnauth, a new president.
