Kailash Purryag
Kailash Purryag (born September 12, 1947 in Vacoas-Phoenix ) is a politician from Mauritius .
Life
From December 22, 1997 to September 17, 2000 Purryag was the successor of Prem Nababsing, Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius. From July 12, 2005 to July 20, 2012, Purryag was the successor to Prem Ramnah as spokesman for the National Assembly of Mauritius , of which he has been a member since 1976. From July 21, 2012 to May 29, 2015, Purryag was President of Mauritius as the successor to Anerood Jugnauth . Purryag is a member of the Labor Party . Purryag is married and has one child.
