Karl sacrifice man
Karl Opfermann (born September 28, 1891 in Rødding Kommune ( North Schleswig ), † March 7, 1960 in Ahrensburg ) was a German wood and stone sculptor .
Life
Until 1913 he was a student at the Flensburg School of Applied Arts (with Heinz Weddig, Fritz Heit); from 1913 to 1914 at the Landeskunstschule Hamburg (class of Richard Luksch ). Sacrifice man was a member of the Hamburg Secession ; his works were mainly created as architectural sculptures - the proximity to Ernst Barlach's sculptural work can be clearly felt in his woodwork . He was also a member of the Hamburg Art Association and the “ De Warft ” artist group .
Karl Opfermann died on March 7, 1960 in his hometown of Ahrensburg. He was buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg, grid square Bh64, 229 (southeast of Chapel 12).
