Karl Otto Dehnert
Karl Otto Dehnert (born January 1, 1919 in Barmen ; † October 26, 2004 in Wuppertal ) was a German local politician of the Free Democratic Party .
Life
Dehnert, a manufacturer by profession, was a member of the Wuppertal City Council from 1965 to 1989. He was mayor of his hometown from 1961 to 1964 and again from 1975 to 1984 .
Honors
In 1973 he received the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class, in 1984 he was upgraded to the Grand Cross of Merit. In 1976 he was awarded the ring of honor by the city of Wuppertal . On November 29, 2007, the mayor of Wuppertal, Peter Jung, officially named Karl-Otto-Dehnert-Strasse in the Oberbarmen district .
