Karl Robert Marz

Karl Robert Marz (born December 17, 1919 in Vienna , † July 5, 1977 in Hanover ) was an Austrian composer , conductor , pianist and translator .

Life

Marz studied piano with Friedrich Wührer , composition with Joseph Marx and Franz Schmidt , conducting a. a. with Clemens Krauss . He was engaged as a répétiteur at the Vienna State Opera , where he worked with Herbert von Karajan . From 1962 until his death in 1977, Marz was director of studies at the Lower Saxony State Opera in Hanover . In addition, he worked as a song pianist and led choirs, a. a. the Mödling men's choir from 1848.
