Karl Sachs

Karl Sachs (born May 30, 1886 in Vienna , † April 16, 1980 in Baden ) was a Swiss electrical engineer .

Sachs was an engineer at Brown, Boveri & Cie. From 1931 he was also a lecturer for electric traction vehicles at the ETH Zurich . In 1940 the ETH awarded him a titular professorship , and from 1947 to 1956 he was associate professor there for electrical train transport and the fundamentals of railway engineering. In 1966 he was awarded the Grashof Memorial Medal by the Association of German Engineers .
