The non-profit Karl Schlecht Foundation (KSG) is a non-profit foundation in Germany that works regionally and nationwide for “Good Leadership”.

history

The foundation was founded in 1998 by the entrepreneur Karl Schlecht and is based in Aichtal near Stuttgart on the site of the former donor company Putzmeister . Since 2013 she has also had an office on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin , and there is also an office in Munich . Until January 2012, the foundation held 99 percent of the shares in Putzmeister Holding GmbH , the founder's company. As a cleaning master to the Chinese company Sany Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. was sold, 99 percent of the proceeds flowed into the assets of the foundation, which has since been increasingly active in promoting with foundation capital of 440 million euros.

Employees and projects

18 employees support around 110 external projects as well as their own projects. Every year around 9 million euros are given into project funding. Long-term funding commitments totaled 45.4 million euros at the end of 2018.

Foundation purpose and funding focus

The purpose of the foundation is to promote science and ethics, education and training, the environment and energy, as well as art and culture. The foundation's funding focus is on “Good Leadership”. Their guiding principle is to improve leadership in business and society through humanistic values. Against this background, it supports science and education projects that contribute to the holistic, value-oriented personal development of young people and prospective managers.

The purposes of the foundation are exclusively non-profit and are mainly promotional and only marginally implemented. In addition to projects in Germany, the foundation is also committed to promoting understanding with and in China. Divided into five subject areas, the foundation pursues its goals.

Ethical value formation

The foundation supports projects for the ethical education of students, for intercultural value dialogue and for ethical standards in business.

Leadership Education

The foundation wants to set the course for leadership excellence among students and prospective managers. The aim is to awaken this competence among young professionals. In doing so, the foundation focuses on promoting the personality strength of students, the personal maturity of the next generation of leaders and the research and communication of leadership methods.

Entrepreneurship Education

In the field of Entrepreneurship Education, the foundation supports projects to strengthen entrepreneurial thinking and acting in schools and entrepreneurship.

Cultural education

In the field of cultural education, the foundation is committed to the cultural education of schoolchildren, artistic competence in the economy, as well as in the promotion of young artists.

Regional funding

In addition, the foundation supports regional cultural projects and regional technology projects in the greater Stuttgart area.
