Karl Schmucker (born March 2, 1928 in Mannheim ) is a German architect .

Career

After obtaining his diploma at the TH Karlsruhe in 1955, he worked in the office of his father Wilhelm Schmucker in Mannheim. Under his leadership since 1968, many major projects have been implemented far beyond the Rhine-Neckar region . Since 1989 there has been an office community with his sons Lothar and Andreas Schmucker . In 2010 Karl Schmucker withdrew from day-to-day business.

Schmucker specializes in hospital planning . Among other things, his office realized the BG accident clinic in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , the accident hospital in Berlin and the expansion of the professional association accident clinic in Tübingen . But other striking buildings, especially in Mannheim, were also built under his planning, for example the Collini-Center , the north bank of the Neckar , the administration building of Bilfinger Berger , the synagogue and the extension of the rose garden .
