Karl Stohler

Karl Stohler (born September 21, 1877 in Birsfelden ; † January 7, 1932 there ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Life

Karl Stohler, son of a forester , worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker and from 1901 also as an innkeeper in Birsfelden. From 1906 he worked for the Basler Versicherungsgesellschaft, from 1913 as an inspector. From 1921 to 1932 he headed the general insurance agency for the two half-cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft .

In addition, Stohler was politically active: from 1914 to 1920 he represented the Liberals in the district administrator of the canton of Baselland and from 1919 to 1928 and from 1931 to 1932 in the national council .
