Karl Sulzbach

Karl Sulzbach (born January 31, 1859 in Frankfurt am Main ; † October 25, 1931 there ) was a German banker and patron .

Life

Karl Sulzbach was born as the youngest son of the Frankfurt banker Rudolf Sulzbach into his wife Theodora Brass in Frankfurt am Main in 1859. After completing his studies and completing his doctorate, he joined the Sulzbach Brothers banking house in Frankfurt am Main. After his brother Emil Sulzbach withdrew from his parents' bank and his father died in early 1904, he initially ran the bank as the sole shareholder.

On January 1, 1920, attorney Heinrich Kirchholtes , who had married the daughter of Karl Sulzbach, became the new partner in the bank. In 1922 his son Walter also joined the bank.

In 1912, Karl Sulzbach founded the Dr. Karl Sulzbach Foundation, which supported the humanities chairs at the University of Frankfurt , which was being established. This foundation was integrated into the Frankfurt University Foundation in 1940.

Karl Sulzbach was married. The marriage resulted in a daughter and son Walter Sulzbach . Karl Sulzbach died in October 1931 at the age of 72.
