Karl Terpinitz

Karl Terpinitz (born October 10, 1824 in Perg , † November 15, 1895 in Perg) was a German-liberal Upper Austrian member of the state parliament , mayor of Perg and a brewery and business owner .

Political activity

Terpinitz was mayor of Markt Perg from 1861 to 1868 and from 1863 to 1869 a member of parliament in the state of the Enns in the Grein constituency, where he worked as a member of the municipal and industrial districts and on the road committee.

As Vice President of the Upper Austrian Agricultural Society, he represented the farming community, was a long-time member of the central committee of the State Fire Brigade Association and was particularly instrumental in developing the fire-fighting service in Upper Austria.

Local importance

In Perg, in addition to his position as mayor, he also worked in the market commune Perg , in the Sparkasse der Marktkommune Perg (today Sparkasse Oberösterreich) , in the children's custody (today Kindergarten Association Perg) and in the Perger Liedertafel. As the founder of the Perg volunteer fire brigade in 1873, he was also its first fire chief. He was later made an honorary member by his armed forces.

Awards

The Terpinitzgasse in Perg is named after him.
