Karl Vikas
Karl Vikas (born September 19, 1875 in Ternitz / Lower Austria , † August 30, 1934 in Krems an der Donau ) was an Austrian landscape painter .
Karl Vikas was a student of the landscape painter Hugo Darnaut in his painting school in Plankenberg Castle in the Vienna Woods because he could not afford an academic education. As a successful painter of landscapes, he lived in Mautern in the Wachau , where he lived until his death.
His works were influenced by Emil Jakob Schindler . Vikas was one of the founders of the Wachau Artists' Association in 1919 .
