Karl Walter Müller

Karl-Walter Müller (born May 4, 1931 in Pirmasens ; † March 26, 2016 ) was a German SPD politician .

Life

After graduating from high school, Müller first did an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and then worked as a commercial clerk. He later studied law and economics as well as pedagogy, graduating as a business teacher. From 1958 on he taught at the German Shoe School , when he moved into the state parliament he had to end this activity. For this he was honorary director of the Pirmasens adult education center from 1972 to 1979 . In 1987 he took over the post of director of studies at the vocational school in Pirmasens.

Müller was involved in the SPD, where he took over the post of deputy chairman in the sub-district of Pirmasens- Zweibrücken . In Pirmasens he was deputy chairman of the city council parliamentary group and honorary alderman, in the Palatinate district council he held the office of chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

From 1971 to 1987 Müller was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . There he belonged to the parliamentary group's executive committee and the committees for real estate and budget, the audit commission, the intermediate committee and the subcommittee “Improvement of Vocational Education”. In the 8th and 9th electoral terms he was chairman of the Committee on Economics and Transport.

Müller had other memberships, for example, he sat in the Interregional Parliamentarians' Council, in the planning community West Palatinate, the planning advisory board of the state government and in the state guarantee committee. In 1979 he was a member of the 7th Federal Assembly .
