Karl Weiner

Karl Weiner (born January 29, 1872 in Greiffenberg , † August 25, 1950 in Berlin ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Weiner completed an apprenticeship as a moulder. He then worked as a sculptor and metalworker in Berlin. He joined the union, was chairman of the engraver section in the association of lithographers and lithographers from 1909 to 1929, and from 1918 to 1928 a member of the works council and chairman of the workers' council at Ludwig Loewe & Co. in Berlin.

Weiner joined the SPD and was a member of the district assembly in the Tiergarten district from 1921 to 1933 . In 1928 he was elected to the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1933.

After 1945 Weiner lived in West Berlin .
