Karl Wilhelm Henke (born  February 12, 1948 in Ampen ) is a German stenographer , textbook author and former president of the German Stenographers Association.

Life

Henke was born in Ampen on February 12, 1948. At the age of 16 he took up the position of youth leader in the Soest Stenographers Association. At the age of 33, Henke took over the office of district chairman in the Ruhr-Lippe-Sieg area, only to become chairman of the West German Stenographers Association at the age of 33. After he had headed it for 18 years, he finally switched to the German Stenographers Association in order to take over the office of President after 10 years as Vice President. He held this position for five years.

From 1971 to 2013, Henke was a teacher of shorthand and word processing at the Hubertus Schwartz Vocational College in Soest and, as of 2012, wrote 83 textbooks. Together with Konrad Weber, he developed the Neue Notschrift for an easy introduction to shorthand . He works as editor of the magazines Winklers Illustrierte and Praxis der Textverarbeitung .

In addition to these activities, Henke is also artistically active as a photographer.

Shorthand services

Among other things, Henke is the German senior champion in shorthand in age group A and two-time German combination champion in shorthand in age group A and in text entry . Henke is also a multiple runner-up in other categories.

Its shorthand maximum output is 500 syllables per minute.

Awards

Henke has been the recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon since 1998 . In 2013, during the 25th Federal Cup letter in Soest, he was presented with the bronze honorary plaque, the highest award of the German Stenographers Association .
