Karl Wilhelm Lorenz
Karl Wilhelm Lorenz (born March 14, 1886 in Karlsruhe , † July 13, 1918 in Mannheim ) was a German mathematician and astronomer .
Life
After attending secondary school in Karlsruhe, he studied astronomy and mathematics at Heidelberg University . From 1908 to 1910 he was an assistant at the Königstuhl Observatory in Heidelberg . In 1911 he received his doctorate and then worked in higher education. After his wedding in 1916, his old heart condition came to light again in 1917. He died in Mannheim in 1918 of pneumonia.
While working at the Königstuhl Observatory, he found four new asteroids.
