Karl Wilhelm Philipp Bockwitz (born November 12, 1784 in Grebenstein ; † September 22 / September 23, 1857 in Kassel ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Bockwitz was the son of the lawyer Andreas Philipp Bockwitz (1746–1808) from Grebenstein and his wife Anna Franziska Christine Stückerath (1758–1829). He married Maria Christina Hildewig (1785– before 1830) in Grebenstein around 1809, the daughter of the senior pensioner in Grebenstein, Johann Georg Hildwig (1736–1805).

Bockwitz studied law and political science from 1801 in Göttingen and from 1803 in Marburg. On November 15, 1805, he was admitted to the Grebenstein and Hofgeismar offices as a lawyer . On April 18, 1807, he also became an actuary at the Grebenstein City Court.

In the Kingdom of Westphalia he was the second deputy of the justice of the peace in Grebenstein and notary in Grebenstein.

From March 25, 1814, he was city ​​and official actuary in Grebenstein in the Electorate of Hesse . On February 18, 1818 he was appointed judicial officer in Volkmarsen . From September 19, 1821 to 1832 he was district councilor in Witzenhausen . On April 19, 1832, he moved to the Kassel district as a district councilor . From January 18, 1849, he was the first administrative officer there. On January 5, 1849, he was retired with the rank of government councilor.
