Karl Wilkes
Karl Wilkes (born April 21, 1895 in Nickenich , † November 2, 1954 in Düsseldorf ) was a German archivist .
Life
He studied history at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate in 1921 on the Cistercian Abbey of Himmerod . From 1935 he was an employee of the Rhineland archives advice center . After the Second World War initially acting head of the Trier city library , he was appointed regional archivist in Düsseldorf in 1950.
