Karl von Ege

Karl von Ege (born July 22, 1837 in Esslingen am Neckar , † June 25, 1899 in Leipzig ) was a German judge .

Karl Ege was the youngest child of Ernst Jakob von Ege (1791-1854) and Luise Ege born. Gollmer (1802–1848) and had six siblings. Two of his brothers were the prelate and general superintendent Ernst von Ege and the state parliament member Emil Ege .

Life

After graduating from high school in Stuttgart, he studied for four years, from 1855 to 1859 in Tübingen and Heidelberg. In 1862 he joined the Württemberg state service as a court actuary. He was first in Stuttgart, then Münsingen and finally Riedlingen. In 1870 he became a district judge in Ravensburg and in 1873 in Stuttgart. He was then appointed First Secretary in the Ministry of Justice. During the negotiations in the Reichstag in 1875/76 on the Reich Justice Laws , Ege was secretary of the Justice Commission. In 1879 he was promoted to the district court advisor in Stuttgart and from December 1879 was a member of von Kübel's position on the 1st BGB commission. With the completion of the work of the 2nd Commission in 1889, he returned from Berlin to Württemberg and became a councilor at the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court . In 1891 he was in the VI. Appointed civil senate of the Reichsgericht , to which he belonged until his death in 1899. He was a grandfather of Arnold Gehlen .
