Karlheinz Busen, Member of the Bundestag

Karlheinz Busen (born April 5, 1951 in Gronau (Westphalia) ) is a German politician of the FDP and civil engineer . He was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from 2012 to 2017 . He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

Karlheinz Busen is a graduate engineer and has his own company with eight employees.

Until 2014, Busen was deputy district administrator and district member in the Borken district . He is chairman of the FDP district association Münsterland and a member of the state board of the Free Democrats in North Rhine-Westphalia and deputy chairman of the FDP in the Borken district.

He ran as a direct candidate for the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005 , 2010 and 2012 in the Borken II state electoral district , receiving 5.9%, 5.7% and 4.3% of the first votes. In the 2005 state elections, he was in 116th place on the state list, while he was 34th in the 2010 state elections. In 2012 he moved into the state parliament via his list position 21. During the 16th legislative period of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament, Busen was the spokesman for the subjects of "hunting, agriculture and forestry" for the FDP state parliamentary group in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Karlheinz Busen was nominated on December 8, 2016 by his district association as the top candidate for the federal election in September 2017. At the state party conference of the FDP NRW on November 20, Busen was elected to 11th place on the state list and he was a candidate for the FDP in the Borken II constituency . He moved into the 19th German Bundestag via his state list place . He is spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group for hunting and forestry. Busen is a full member of the Food and Agriculture Committee. He is also a deputy member of the Committee for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
