It includes the communities Bocholt , Borken , Gescher , Heiden , Isselburg , Raesfeld , Reken , Rhede , Stadtlohn , Südlohn , Velen and Vreden from the Borken district . The constituency is considered a CDU stronghold. The direct mandate was always clearly won by the CDU candidate.
