Constituency history

The constituency has only existed since the federal election in 2002. Before that, the city of Leverkusen, together with the municipalities of Burscheid and Leichlingen (Rhineland) from the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, formed the constituency of Leverkusen - Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis II . The Cologne district of Mülheim was part of the Cologne IV constituency . In the 2002, 2005 and 2009 elections, the constituency was number 102 and in the 2013 federal election it was number 101.
