The Bundestag constituency Essen II (constituency 119) is located in North Rhine-Westphalia and includes the city districts I, V, VI and VII of the city of Essen . The constituency includes the city center of Essen and the districts of Steele , Kray , Katernberg and Altenessen . The constituency is one of the strongest strongholds of the SPD in the whole of Germany and has always been won over by the SPD since 1949. Before the 2013 federal election, the constituency was number 120
