The Bundestag constituency Dortmund I (constituency 142) is a federal constituency in North Rhine-Westphalia . It includes the western districts of Dortmund , i.e. Mengede , Huckarde , inner-city west and east , Hombruch and Lütgendortmund . So far, the constituency has been won in all elections by the respective SPD candidate.

The constituency in its current size was created after the constituency reform for the 2002 federal election . The districts of Huckarde, inner city east and west belonged to the Bundestag constituency 113 Dortmund I (direct mandate last won by Hans-Eberhard Urbaniak from the SPD), Mengede to constituency 114 Dortmund II ( Wolfgang Weiermann , SPD) and Hombruch and Lütgendortmund to constituency 115 Dortmund III ( Ulla Burchardt , SPD). For the 2013 federal election, the constituency number was changed from 143 to 142.
