Tommy Svindal Larsen (born August 11, 1973 in Skien , Norway ) is a former Norwegian football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

society

Larsen started his career at Odd Grenland . He came to Stabæk IF via Start Kristiansand . In November 2001, the club brought him as an additional playmaker to David Jarolím , who was visibly overwhelmed with this role. Larsen filled the role well, developed into a regular player and even became captain of the team in January 2003. In summer 2005 he surprised coach Wolfgang Wolf as well as the fans with his request to terminate his contract after the end of the season . Apparently he was looking for new challenges. Because of his great merits, the club complied with Larsen's request. Finally, he joined his home club Odd Grenland, for which he was active until 2011.

National team

He made 24 caps for Norway . With 99 appearances, he is the record player for the Norwegian youth national teams.

Trivia

In the 2003/04 promotion season it was noticeable that Larsen often suffered from infectious diseases , especially in the second half of the season . At first it was assumed that one of his four children had infected him. Then the reason was believed to have been found in mold in his house. Eventually, however, it turned out that a lack of minerals such as iron was the real cause. During the summer break, Larsen followed a special diet, in the course of which he lost seven and a half kilograms. As a "normal eater", however, he soon regained his fighting weight and made an excellent physical impression at the start of the season.
