Christoph Pries

Christoph Pries (born November 26, 1958 in Isselburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

He was chairman of the New Media subcommittee of the Committee for Culture and Media of the 16th Bundestag.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1979 at the St. Josef-Gymnasium in Bocholt , Pries did his military service and began studying modern history , Eastern European history and journalism at the Westphalian Wilhelms-Universität Münster in 1980 , which he completed in 1986 as a Magister Artium . He then worked for the city administration of the city of Rhede in the field of tourism and tourism promotion. In 1990 he switched to the West German publishing and advertising company in Wesel as a journalist . He has been working here as an editor since 1993 .

Christoph Pries is married and has two children.

Political party

Pries has been a member of the SPD since 1988 and has been chairman of the SPD sub-district Borken since 2003 . Between 2000 and 2006 Christoph Pries was chairman of the SPD local association in Isselburg.

MP

On November 16, 2005, Pries replaced the late MP Dagmar Schmidt in the German Bundestag . Since March 15, 2006, he was chairman of the sub- committee for new media of the committee for culture and media of the German Bundestag. With the election to the German Bundestag on September 27, 2009, Pries left the German Bundestag.
