Karlheinz Rösener

Karlheinz Rösener (born January 4, 1933 in Duisburg ) is a German industrial manager.

Life

Rösener attended the Max Planck Gymnasium in Duisburg , where he graduated from high school. Then he went to study mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University . In the summer semester of 1954 he became active in the Corps Montania Aachen. He completed his studies in 1959 as a Dipl.-Ing. process engineering. In the same year he went to the Kalk Chemical Factory as a process engineer . In 1965 he was awarded a Dr.-Ing. With a metallurgical topic from the Technical University of Munich. PhD. From 1966 to 1971 he was at Henkel , where he was promoted to general manager and later to chief representative. In 1971 he moved to the Rheinische Kalksteinwerke GmbH and Dolomitwerke GmbH in Wülfrath as managing director. As a full managing director, he was responsible for the market and research and development departments there since 1972 . In 1982 he moved to Thyssen as a deputy board member , where he became a member of the board and in 1985 chairman of the board of Thyssen Edelstahlwerke . He was a member of the Thyssen Board of Management until his retirement.

Rösener was a member of the plenary assembly of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce from 1989 to 1998, and from 1991 to 1998 as its vice-president. From 2000 to 2006 he was a member of the Finance Committee. From 1995 to 1998 he was President of the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce, of which he was a board member for a total of ten years.

In 1980 RWTH Aachen appointed Rösener an honorary professor. Among other things, he dealt with the extraction of minerals from sea water, energy generation from renewable raw materials such as bioethanol and biodiesel, and the exploitation of new iron ore mines.
