Karoline Wacker (born February 19, 1991 ) is a German soccer referee in the women's Bundesliga . She has been a FIFA referee since 2017.

Career

Wacker began as a referee in 2004 and was nominated for the DFB list for the first time in 2012, after having been an assistant referee in the women's Bundesliga since 2009. As a result, she initially whistled games in the 2nd women's Bundesliga, and since 2014 she has been directing games in the women's Bundesliga. For men, she has been whistling games in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg since 2014 , and since the 2017/18 season games up to the fourth-class regional league, in which she has been an assistant referee since the 2014/15 season.

Internationally, Wacker made her first noteworthy appearances as assistant referee in the UEFA Women's Champions League in the 2015/16 season , where she was on the line in a total of four games. The highlight was the semi-final first leg between the top French teams Olympique Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain , which was led by Bibiana Steinhaus . In autumn 2016, the German women's national team played another international match against the Netherlands, in which Wacker assisted the top Hungarian referee Katalin Kulcsár . In 2017, Wacker was appointed FIFA referee. She then directed a World Cup qualifier between the women of Israel and Finland.

Wacker whistles for Sportfreunde Großerlach and works as a tax officer.
