Caroline plate

The Caroline Plate is a small tectonic plate north of New Guinea . Its southwest border is a subduction zone in front of the Bird's Head Plate and the Woodlark Plate , the southeast border an oceanic convergence zone to the North Bismarck Plate . A transform fault forms the northern and eastern borders of the Pacific Plate . Along the border with the Philippine Plate in the west there is a subduction zone that merges into a rift zone to the south .
