Burma plate
The Burma plate is a small continental plate ( microplate ) that lies between the Indian plate in the west and the Sunda plate in the east. In the north it borders on the Eurasian plate , in the south on the Australian plate . The effects of the subduction of the Indian plate under the Burma and Sunda plates resulted in the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and the 2005 Sumatra earthquake .
