Carpathian League

The Carpathian League was a transnational ice hockey competition in which teams from Croatia , Poland , the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia , Slovakia and Hungary participated. It was held once in the 1997/98 season and won by the Hungarian club Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros . After the 2000/01 season, the league was discontinued.

Held in 1997/98

Eight teams took part in the Carpathian League in the 1997/98 season, four of them from Hungary and one each from Slovakia , Croatia , Poland and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . The teams first played the places in two groups of four in the first and second leg. The respective group winner qualified for the final, the respective second for the game for third place.

In the best-of-three mode, the winners of the final round matches were then determined. In the final, Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros prevailed against SHK Danubia Bratislava .
