The Karpogo Sar I (also Kezhen ) is a 7038 m (according to other sources 7090 m ) high mountain in the central Karakoram in the autonomous region of Xinjiang ( People's Republic of China ).
location
It is located in Panmah Muztagh about 1.5 km from the Pakistani border. The mountain is connected to Changtok Sar I , 2.5 km to the north- northeast, via a ridge .
Ascent history
In 1986 and 1988, attempts were made by Japanese expeditions. The first ascent of Karpogo Sar I was finally achieved by a Japanese expedition on July 19, 1994 from the Sarpo Laggo Glacier over the southeast face and the northeast ridge. Hideki Kawaguchi, Akihito Yamasaki and Hiroki Yoshida reached the top.
