The Karrakatta Valley short valley on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It extends from Husvik Harbor in a west-northwest direction.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1990 after the whaling ship Karrakatta , built in Norway in 1912 , which, after its active service off the coast of Western Australia, functioned as a steam generator for the slipway for landing whale cadavers in Stromness until around 1959.
